Healthcare Works Wellness has classes to suit almost every background whether you are seeking your CPR certification as a requirement for work or for personal reasons, we can help. We teach doctors, nurses, technicians, EMT's, personal trainers, daycare providers, new parents, anyone can be certified. We have classes tailored to meet what you are looking for. What do we offer?
We specialize in classroom settings and one-to-one instruction. We can even teach you in the convenience of your home.  Any time, any day, we're flexible, classes are offered in VA, MD and DC. The AHA courses below are taught under the updated 2010 AHA Guidelines for ECC and CPR.

•    The Heartsaver CPR course is approximately 3 hours and may be shorter depending on the number of students in each class. We offer one to one instruction as well. This course is for anyone who wants to learn CPR, personal trainers, daycare providers or people who are required to have this certification for work. Your American Heart Association card is good for two years.

•    The Heartsaver AED course is approximately 3.5 hours and may be shorter depending on the number of students in each class. We offer one to one instruction as well. This course is for anyone who wants to learn CPR, personal trainers, daycare providers or people who are required to have this certification for work. Your American Heart Association card is good for two years. Prior to the completion of the class there is a skills exam.
•    The Heartsaver First Aid course without CPR is approximately 3 hours and may be shorter depending on the number of students in each class. We offer one to one instruction as well. This course is for anyone who wants to learn how to respond to adult illnesses and emergencies like medical emergencies and injury emergencies. Other topics available to learn are environmental emergencies, CPR and AED. This course is for anyone who wants to learn First Aid, personal trainers, daycare providers or people who are required to have this certification for work. Your American Heart Association card is good for two years. Prior to the completion of the class there is a skills exam.
•    The BLS for Healthcare Provider course is approximately 4 hours for the Initial course and approximately 3.5 hours for the Renewal course and may be shorter depending on the number of students in each class. We offer one-to-one instruction as well at no additional cost. This course is geared toward EMS personnel, physician assistants, nurses, doctors and others in the healthcare industry. Your American Heart Association card is good for two years. Prior to the completion of the class you will take a 25 question multiple choice test and practical skills exam. Upon successful completion you will receive your new BLS for Healthcare Provider card, there's no waiting period.
•    ACLS Recertification is taught by a NREMT-Paramedic and an AHA Program Director. The prerequisites for this class is a current BLS card,(non-expired) ACLS Provider card and working knowledge of cardiac rhythms and ACLS pharmacology.
•    The Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid course without CPR is approximately 3 hours and may be shorter depending on the number of students in each class. We offer one-to-one instruction as well. This course is for anyone who wants to learn how to respond to child illnesses and emergencies like medical emergencies and injury emergencies. Optional topics available to learn are asthma care training for child care providers, eye injuries, fever, bites and suspected abuse. This course is for anyone who wants to learn Pediatric First Aid like parents, nannies, daycare providers or people who are required to have this certification for work. Your American Heart Association card is good for two years.

Who are the instructors?
The classes we offer are taught by experienced American Heart Association Instructors. Our staff consist of healthcare providers who are Firefighters, EMT's, Paramedics and nurses. Rest assured that you will be taught by experienced providers who not only practice what they teach but are very knowledgeable, professional and friendly. Not only is our passion medicine but also helping our students to feel comfortable with their skills. No matter which course you choose, your certification is good for two years.
